THREE TIMES NINE
June, summer, sun

In the month of June, spring turns into summer. This has everything to do with the position of the sun around the 21st of this month, which is also the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. The sun therefore plays an important role in determining when summer starts, but of course also in the summer feeling. Vincent van Gogh has wonderfully captured the pleasant warm rays of the sun and that bright light that almost automatically create a cheerful mood in The Sower (1888), of which I have used a detail in the background of the images below. To a beautiful, sunny summer!
THREE TIMES NINE
Originally there were three Germanic language families: North, East and West Germanic. Unfortunately, all East Germanic languages have died out, but fortunately North and West Germanic languages are still there. In the section THREE TIMES NINE, every month on the 27th, I put three words in nine of those languages next to each other. In contrast to the series WEST GERMANIC, in this case, I leave the comparison to you. Have fun comparing!
