Ford has long built very different models for different regions. Of course, that entails a lot of extra development costs, so Ford came up with the One Ford Strategy. The 2008 Fiesta was developed under that strategy, so it was sold in pretty the same form all over the world. In 2009, that Fiesta became 2nd in the European Car of the Year election.
