Long before different variants of the coronavirus were designated with Greek letters, that same alphabet was used by Lancia to name their models. And so every true car enthusiast on seeing the letter delta first thinks of the Lancia Delta, especially the HF Integrale Evoluzione, the street version of the highly successful Group A rally car. When the model came on the market in 1979, however, only a modest motorization was available. Despite this, the Delta was awarded Car of the Year 1980. After these glory days, for Lancia years of decline and neglect followed. Fortunately, this beautiful brand now, under Stellantis, finally seems to get a serious chance again, as "Italian Mercedes". There are also rumours that a new Delta is being worked on. But for now, the model in the photos remains the best scoring Lancia in this Top 50.
