Large sedans have been an increasingly rare sight for years, but things were very different in the 1960s. Yet Renault chose to turn their grande routière into a hatchback. That choice was not only rewarded with the title Car of the Year 1965, but also with a production of more than 1.8 million Seizes in sixteen years. That's about 30 times as many as have been built of its last offspring Vel Satis!
