In 2019 I wrote "you could call the Peugeot 405 the Car of the Century." The 405 is in fact the car that received the highest number of points ever in the history of the Car of the Year. But because the number of points to be gained differs per year, that does not say everything. Out of curiosity, I converted the points into percentages and this is how this Car of the Year Top 50 was created. As you can see, the Peugeot 405 finishes in second place in it. This does not detract from the fact that the berline achieved a mammoth victory with 464 points in the election in 1988. The jury was almost unanimous: 54 of 57 jury members put the 405 in first place. The consumer was just as fond of the 405: Peugeot only built more of the 206 and 205.
